Imani is a freelance black women photographer and film maker based in Brooklyn, New York . She pursued her interest in photography by enrolling in Pratt Institute. In the four years she was in school she learned about the founders of photography, lighting and simply building herself as a person
Going to a predominantly white art school, made her realize that there was a lack of conversation around black art and topics. She knew something needed to change. Imani is currently working on a personal project called "Hood Girl Blues" where she is trying to take back the image of the black woman.
Imani has several changes she wants to make, and changing the stigma behind being hush hush, with black topics is one of them.
